Eleanore was born about 1005 in Normandy,France.1 Eleanore's father was Richard II, "The Good", Duke of Normandy and her mother was Judith de Bretagne. Her paternal grandparents were Richard I, "Sans Peur", Duke of Normandy and Gonnor de Crepon; her maternal grandparents were Conan I, "The Crooked", Duke of Brittany and Ermengarde d'Anjou. She had three brothers and a sister, named Richard III, Duke of Normandy, Robert I, "The Devil", Duke of Normandy, Guillaume of Normandy and Judith of Normandy. She was the youngest of the five children.-
