Samuel Dewees 
Samuel was born in 1713 in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. Samuel's father was Lewis-Lambertus Dewees and his mother was Mary Wheeler. His paternal grandparents were Garrett Hendricksz de Wees and Sytie Lieuwes; his maternal grandparents were John Wheeler and Ruth-------. He had four brothers named William, Hezekiah, Cornelius and Jonathan. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 40 in October 1753 in Kent County,Delaware.-
