Jesse Alvin was born on July 14th, 1892 in Trenton,Grundy,Missouri. Jesse Alvin's father was Arthur Clingingsmith and his mother was Esther Klingensmith. His paternal grandparents were Philip Clingingsmith and Elizabeth Pavin; his maternal grandparents were Simon Peter Klingensmith and Esther Smail. He had five brothers and three sisters, named George, William Arthur, Simon Sylvester, Benjamin Franklin, Earl Everett, Esther Ann, Rose Ellen ( Nellie) and Bessie M. E.. He was the youngest of the nine children.-
