His paternal grandparents were Hugh De COURTENAY and Eleanor Le DESPENCER; his maternal grandparents were John SAINT JOHN and Alice FITZPIERS. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Hugh De, Robert De, Thomas, Baldwin De, Eleanor De and Elizabeth De. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died in 1349 in Unmarried.1 -
