Ermengarde of was born about 0970.¹   Ermengarde of's father was William I Count of Provence Taillefer and her mother was Arside\Blanche De Anjou.  Her paternal grandparents were Bozon Count of Provence and Constance of Vienne; her maternal grandparents were Fulco II "The Good" "The Bon" Count of Anjou and Gerberga of Maine Vermonadois. She had a brother and a sister, named Guillaume II Count of and Constance De Toulouse.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother named Pons III Count of.
