Albert was born about 1000.1   Albert's father was Albert I, Count of Namur and his mother was Ermengarde of Lorraine.  His paternal grandfather was Robert I, Count of Lomme; his maternal grandparents were Charles , Duke of Lower Lorraine and Adelaide. He had a sister named Hadwide.  He died in 1064.1
