Hugh IV De Montfort 
Hugh IV was born about 1090. Hugh IV's father was Gilbert De Gant and his mother was Alix De Montfort. His paternal grandparents were I Rodolph and Gisèle De Luxembourg; his maternal grandparents were Hugh II De Montfort and Alice De Beauffoe. He had a brother and a sister, named Walter and Agnes. He was the youngest of the three children.General Notes
Hugh de Montfort, who, on account of his mother being so great an heiress, assumed the name of Montfort, inherited all the possessions of his grandfather and was called Hugh the fourth. This Hugh, having m. Adeline, dau. of Robert, Earl of Mellent, joined with Waleran, her brother, and all those who endeavoured to advance William, son of Robert Curthose, against King Henry I in 1124, and entering Normandy for that purpose, he was made prisoner, with the said Waleran, and confined for the fourteen years ensuing. The time of his death is not ascertained but he left issue, Robert; Thurstan; Adeline, m. to William de Britolio; Ada, m. to Richard, son of the Earl of Gloucester.
