Jean was born in 1603 in Mortagne, Orne, Perche, Basse Normandie, France.1 Jean's father was Abraham Cote and his mother was Francoise Genevieve Loisel. He was an only child. He died at the age of 58 on March 27th, 1661 in Quebec, PQ, Canada.1 General Notes

Jean and Marie Anne were married in a religious ceremony on November 17th, 1635 in Notre Dame DE Que., Que., Canada.1 They had five sons and a daughter, named Louis, Martin, Mathieu, Jean, Noel and Simone.
