Hugh was born about 1136 in Richards Castle,Herefordshire,Englandlan. Hugh's father was Hugh Fitz Osborn and his mother was Eustache de Say. His paternal grandparents were Sheriff Osborn Fitz Richard and Nest Verch Gruffydd of North Wales; his maternal grandfather was Theodore de Say. He was an only child. He died in 1190.-
