Walter was born in 1245 in Winterbourne, Clenstone, Dorestshire. Walter's father was John deLa LynDe and his mother was Clarica deHartley. His paternal grandfather was Thomas deLa LynDe; his maternal grandparents were Adam deHartley and Cecilia deHartley. He was an only child. He died at the age of 72 in 1317.-
