Jan was born about 1641.  Jan's father was Lubbert Lubbertsen Van Westervelt and his mother was Geesie Grace Roelofse Van Houten.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Wilhelm Van Westervelt and Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Roeloff Van Houten and Gerritje Van Nes. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Roelof Lubbertse, Lubbert, Margrietje, Maritie Lubbertse and Jan Juriense.  He died after December 25th, 1698.
