His paternal grandparents were Gov Bodegeisel II of Cologne and Oda of Savoy; his maternal grandparents were Bishop Arnold of Metz and Oda. He had two brothers named Ansgise of Austrasia and Walchiges of Verdun.
They had a daughter named Valtrudeof Verdun.
