John Swain 
John was born on September 1st, 1664 in Nantucket, Nantucket County, Ma.1 John's father was John Swain and his mother was Mary Weare. His paternal grandparents were Richard Swain and Elizabeth Basselle; his maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Weare and Sarah. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Stephen, Joseph, Benjamin, Mary, Sarah, Patience, Elizabeth and Patience. He died in Nantucket, Nantucket County, Ma.2 General Notes
He was the first male white child born on the island of Nantucket. When he died, he was the oldest white man on the island. He owned a farm in Polpis, where he resided, being a farmer. His land adjoined that of his brother-in-law John Folger.
