His paternal grandparents were Roger de Montgomery , Vicomte D'Hiemois and Emma; his maternal grandparents were Count William II Talvas and Hildeburge de Beaumont. He had two sisters named Maud de and Sybil de. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Roger of Arundel & Shrewsbury, Arnulf, Robert IIof Montgomery and Sybil. He died at the age of 44 in 1102.-
