Godfrey was born in 1344 in Of, Tidewell, Yorkshire, England. Godfrey's father was Godfrey Foljambe and his mother was Avena Ireland. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Foljambe and Alice Darley; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Ireland. He was an only child. He died at the age of 32 in 1376.-
