Louis VIII, known as "The Lion", was born on September 3rd, 1187 in Paris,Seine,France.  "The Lion"'s father was King Philip II Augustus (King Of France) Capet and his mother was Queen Isabelle Hainault.  His paternal grandparents were King Louis VII (King of France) Capet and Countess Alice (Countess of Champagne) de Blois; his maternal grandparents were Count Baldwin V (Count of Hainaut & Flanders) Hainault and Countess Marguerite De Flanders.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 39 on November 8th, 1226 in Montpensier,Auvergne,France.  He was buried in St. Denis,France.
