Robert was born in 1015 in AvranCheshire, Normandy, France. Robert's father was Viscount Toustien Le Goz and his mother was Judith deMontandlier. His paternal grandfather was Ansfred II Onfror Le Goz. He had a brother and a sister, named Richard 'le Goz' d'Avranches Vicomte and Maud Margaret. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 56 in 1071.-
