Bertha of Maurienne was born on September 21st, 1051 in , Maurienne, Italy. Bertha of Maurienne's father was Graf Otto I (Eudes) of Maurienne and her mother was Azzica Hadamut of Friuli. Her paternal grandparents were Ct. Humbert I of Savoy and Ancelie of Lenzburg; her maternal grandparents were Graf Werigaud of Friuli and Wilibirg of Ebersburg. She had three half-brothers named Amadeus II of Savoy, Amadeus II of Maurienne and Udalrich I of Istria. She died at the age of 36 on December 27th, 1087.General Notes
