Bernhard of Italy's father was King Charles Martel of Franks (The Hammer) and his mother was Rotrou or Chrotudeof Alammania. His paternal grandparents were Pepin of Heristal and Aupais; his maternal grandparents were Leutwinus of Treves and daughter of Chrodobertus. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Carloman of Franks, Le bref -The short, Audeof Austrasia and Audeof Austrasia. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Carloman of Austrasia, Carloman of Austrasia, Hieronumous Martel, Landradeof Austrasia and of France. He died on April 17th, 0818 in Milano, Italy.General Notes
