John Stephenson was born on March 6th, 1865 in Shelbyville,Shelby,IN. John Stephenson's father was William Luther Young and his mother was Nancy Ann Stephenson. His paternal grandparents were John M. Young and Nancy Louden; his maternal grandparents were John Henry Stephenson and Julie Ann Melone. He had three brothers and a sister, named Ellsworth, Harry L, Walter S and ?. He died at the age of 85 on July 4th, 1950 in Meno,Major,OK. He was buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery.General Notes

"John Stephenson Young
Rev. Ray Houston will conduct funeral services Saturday at 2:30 pm in the Ringwood Friends Church for John S. Young. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred Strange, Ted Jackson, Lane Folger, Martin Lee, Carl C. Lovingier and Pete Ritter.
Funeral plans were announced by Brown Funeral Home."

"John Stephenson Young
John Stephenson Young was born March 6, 1865 in Shelbyville, Indiana to William and Nancy Young and passed away at Enid at the age of 85 years, three months, and twenty-eight days after a lingering illness. He was the oldest of five children and the last to go. His father died when he was ten years old and his mother died in 1934.
He was converted and baptized in the year 1933. At an early age, he with his family moved to Joplin, Missouri. He was married to Mrs. Orminia Johnson of St. Paul, Arkansas, August 16, 1906. They moved to Oklahoma in 1907 and had lived in the Ringwood community forty years.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Orminia; five daughters, Mrs. Herb Ritter and Mrs. Claxton Duncan of Enid, Mrs. Harold Freger of Fresno, California, Mrs. Lawrence Beardsley of Riverdale, California, and Mrs. Charles White of Bunkle, Louisiana; two sons, Alvin and Bill of Ringwood; twenty-three grandchldren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
