General Notes

In the name of God amen
I James Trimble of Montgomery County and State of Kentucky being in a bad state of
health but of sound memory do appoint this instrument of writing to be my last will and
testament first I commit my soul to God who gave it my body to the dust from whence it
was taken in hopes to participate a Glorious resurrection through the meditation and
intercession of Christ Jesus our Lord
As to my worldly Goods which it has pleased God to help me with and which I am now in
position of I will and bequeath in the following manner
1st I will and bequeath to my son David Trimble fifty acres of land whereon he now live,
to hold the same without any interference of any of my heirs (twit)
2nd I will and bequeath to my son John Trimble seventy acres of land whereon I now lives
to be his right at my deceased together with all my farming tools
3rd I will and bequeath to my daughter Betsy Trimble one Chesnut Sorrell Mare and one
chesnut sorrel Colt one year old ____ leave the Balance of the Cattle to be divided her and
John Trimble Except one cow which they are to give Robert Trimble out of the stock I
Likewise Bequeath to Betsy and John Trimble all my Sheep and hogs to dispose of them
as they think proper I Likewise Will and Bequeath to my daughter Betsy Trimble one bed
and beding with other clothing which she chooses to keep she is also to have the
priviledge of living in the house as usual as long as she chooses to continue to stay
together with her Maintainance off the Land while she continues to stay

My daughter Nancy Young Sally Johnston Jane Northcut Thomas Trimble Hugh Trimble
_____ off with one Dollar each

My son John Trimble is to see that all my Just debts are discharged and to collect any that
may be owing he is also to to keep his own Mare? to work and Hugh Trimble is to
have my Mare at my decease and John the Colt My bed I will to my grandson James B.

At a Court held for Montgomery County on the 10th day of August 1815
This writing purporting to be the last will and testament of James Trimble deceased was
this day produced in court and a motion to have the same recorded which was opposed by
Hugh Trimble and court ___ until a court be held on the 11th day of August 1815 which
the court ordered said Will to be recorded which is accordingly done
