John was born on April 15th, 1781. John's father was Robert Sitlington and his mother was Mary Feamster. His paternal grandparents were John Sitlington and Elizabeth Hilton. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Andrew, Thomas and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 86 on March 17th, 1868 in Melrose,McDowell,VA.-
