His paternal grandparents were Johann Gerhard H. Lampe and UNKNOWN Marie; his maternal grandparents were Bernard Hernrich HOLTMEYER and Maria Anna WIEMANN. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Johann Gerhard, Martin Antony, Gerhard Franz Henry, John Henry, Anthony George, Katharina Wilhelmina, Elizabeth, Agnes, Anna Maria, Anna Maria, Anna Maria and Anna Margaretha.
