Living's father was Paul Dean Johnson and his mother was Helen Marie Mungle.  His paternal grandparents were Claude A. Johnson and Opal Mae Dennis; his maternal grandparents were Arthur Sylvester Mungle and Eunice Opal Stone. He had two sisters named Living and Living.

They had a son named Living.
