William Henry Holtmeyer 
William Henry was born on July 14th, 1890 in Shelby County,320 Circle Street,Shelbyville,Indiana. William Henry's father was Franz Heinrich Holtmeyer and his mother was Maria Elisabeth Meer. His paternal grandparents were Bernard Hernrich HOLTMEYER and Maria Anna WIEMANN; his maternal grandparents were (Henry) Herman Henry\Hermann Heinrich MEER and (Margaret) Euphemia Margaretha WESSELING. He had three brothers named Bernard Heinrich, George Edward and UNKNOWN. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 55 on July 14th, 1945 in 261 Lafayette,Dayton,Ohio. He was child #5 which was a surpize to Gene and Dawn. "Lizzie" never talked about losing any children. As far a Gene ever knew, there was only two children. Frank was 42 when William was born and Mary Elizabeth was 36.
William served in the Army from 5/8/1918 to 12/17/1918.
Gene was always told that William was "shell shocked" and lived the remainder of his life in an old soldier's home. It almost seems that he may have been discharged because of his syphilis, but who knows. He contracted syphilis when he was 20, so he had had it for 8 years by the time he joined the army.
His death certificate says that he was a plumber.
