William J. was born on October 7th, 1898 in Moville,,IA. William J.'s father was John Charles Boyd and his mother was Anna Belle Calhoun. His maternal grandparents were David Calhoun and Delilah Geary. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Eldred Merrill (Al), Merlin Clifford, Glenn H., Everett Calhoun, Susie Belle, Adalma May, Vera Elizabeth, Goldie Rhea, Bernice, Melverne and Vivian Grinell. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 75 on October 2nd, 1974.-
