Matthew Godfrey

Matthew was born on April 25th, 1779 in ,Princess Anne,VA.  Matthew's father was Matthew Godfrey and his mother was Sarah Valentine. He had a brother and two sisters, named Jesse, Sarah and Elizabeth.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 50 in 1829.

‌Matthew and Nancy were married in a religious ceremony on September 2nd, 1801 in Princess Anne,VA.  They had a daughter named Nancy.
