Othel was born in March 1897. Othel's father was Henry Issac CABY and his mother was Virginia DULANEY. His paternal grandparents were Daniel CABY and Martha J. INGLE. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Wallace, Dewey, Charlie, Homer, Paul, Curtis, Nell, Flora and Dorothy. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
