Roger was born about 1242 in Ashby,Magna,Leicestershire,England. Roger's father was Sir Alan la Zouche 1st Baron la Zouche and his mother was Helen (Ellen) de Quincy. His paternal grandparents were Roger La Zouche and Ela Longespee; his maternal grandparents were Roger , 2nd Earl Of Winchester de Quincy and Helen (Elena) de Galloway. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Eon Or Eudo, William, Alan, Oliver, Henry, Helene Rohan-Porhoet, Margaret Mary and Maud. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He had four half-sisters named Eleanor, Ellen, Maud and Elizabeth. He died before October 15th, 1285 in Ashby,Magna,Leicestershire,England.-
