Nicolasa's father was Francisco Zapata de Mayorga and her mother was Jeronima de Benavides y Calderon. Her paternal grandparents were Jeronimo Zapata de Mayorga and Constanza Arias De La Fuente; her maternal grandparents were Jeronimo de Benavides and Mariana de Calderon y Urbina. She was an only child.
They had a son named Fernando.
