K: Bernard de St. Valery, Seigneur de St. Valery. Died 1190/1191 atthe siege
of Acre in Palestine.
RC: Bernard IV de St. Valery, died 1190. Married Eleanor de Dommart.
Ayers: Bernard de St. Walery, granted to King Henry II, the site of
Godstow-Nunnery. Founder of Studley-Priory, Oxfordshire. Died 1190 at thesiege
of Acre. Married Maud and Annora/Avoris, daughter of John de St. John.
Ayers says five children of Bernard, including Maud, were byAnnora/Avoris,
who easily could be Eleanor, mentioned by RC--although different fathersare
mentioned.
K. says Matilda was the mother of Matilda, which seems most probable--
Maud/Matilda being the mother of Maud/Matilda.
