Countess Matilda was born about 0878 in Mensleben,Saxony,Germany.  Countess Matilda's father was Theodoric Ringelheim Count of and her mother was Ludmilla Ragnhildis Countess Of Ringelheim.  Her paternal grandparents were Reginhart Count Of Ringelheim and Mathilda von Sachsen; her maternal grandparents were King of Denmark Godefrid (King of Haithabu) Denmark and Gisela Lorraine. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Lambert, Count of, Sigfrid, Amalrada and Frederunda of.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died in Memleben,-,Germany.

‌Countess Matilda and Henry I "The Fowler" King of were married in a religious ceremony about 0909 in Saxony (his 2nd wife).1   They had six sons and five daughters, named Heinrich I Count of, Henry I, Henrich II (I) Duke of (Bavaria), Bruno I, Archbishop of, Otto I "The Great" of, Otto I, Daughter of Henry I of, Gerberga of, Hedwige, Hedwig or Hartwige and Saxony.
