Barad was born about 0910.  Barad's father was Nicephorus "The Younger" Phokas.  His paternal grandparents were Nicephorus "The Elder" Phokas and Anna DALESSENA. He had a sister named Anna.  He was the older of the two children.  Barad is no longer alive.
