Count Richard III of was born in 1199. Count Richard III of's father was Count Amadeus II of Mömpelgard and his mother was Baroness Beatrix of Joinville-Grandson. His paternal grandparents were Count Richard II of Montfaucon and Princess Agnes of Mömpelgard. He had a brother and two sisters, named Count Gauthier I of, Princess Agnes of and Princess Alix of. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 38 on June 17th, 1237.-
