Matfried was born about 0930. Matfried's father was Adalbert of Metz Count of Metz and his mother was Luitgarde of Treves Cntss Luxembourg. His paternal grandparents were Eberhard IV of Nordgau C in the Nordgau and Luitgarde of Treves Cntss Luxembourg; his maternal grandparents were Wigerich von Aachen and Kunigonde de France. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Adalbert of, Gerhard Von Egisheim de, Hugo V Count of, Adalbert II De, Hugues III, Hedwig von and Wigburg Von. He died in 0980.General Notes
