Ledgarde was born in 0941 in Flanders France.1 Ledgarde's father was Arnoul I Count Of Flanders and her mother was Adele (Alice) (Alix) Vermandois Countess Flander. Her paternal grandparents were Baudouin II "The Bald" Count of Flanders and Elfrida Princess of England; her maternal grandparents were Herbert II Count of Vermandois and Hildebrante (Liegaude) of Neustria. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Baudouin III Count, Egbert de, Hildegard of and Elstrude de of. She was the youngest of the five children.1 General Notes
