His paternal grandparents were Hardouin De Ponthieu and ? D'amiens; his maternal grandparents were Boso III The Old', Count of Turin and Richeut Ou Engeltrude. He had a brother and three sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Richard, Duke of, Miss Countess of, Richilde, Nn. and Metz. He had a half-brother named Richard de.
