Count Reinald I of was born in 1090. Count Reinald I of's father was Thierry II De Montbelliard Comte de Bar-le-Duc and his mother was Ermentrude of Burgundy. His paternal grandparents were Louis II of Montbelliard and Sophia Countess of Bar-le-Duc; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume I "The Great" of Bourgogne Count/Bourgogne and Stephanie (Etienette) of Barcelona. He had nine brothers and eight sisters, named Renaud I Count of, Thierry III de, Renaud I, Louis de, Frederic, Count Friedrich I of, Guillaume de, Etienne, Bishop Stephan of, Princess Gunhild of, Mathilde, Marguerite De Montbelliard, Mechtild de, Agnes De, Clementia de, Gunthilde and Princess Irmtrud of. He was the third youngest of the eighteen children. He had a half-brother named Count Ludwig of. He died at the age of 60 on June 24th, 1150.-
