Maud was born about 1142 in Okehampton (Chagford),Devonshire,England.1 Maud's father was Baldwin de Reviers and her mother was Adelise Lucia de Baalun. Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Reviers and Adelise Peverell; her maternal grandfather was Dru de Baalon. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Matilda, Eva and Alice. She was the third oldest of the five children.-
