Juan Ignacio was born on October 9th, 1684 in Sevilla,España. Juan Ignacio's father was Francisco Antonio Santa Cruz and his mother was Teresa Juana de Torres. His paternal grandparents were Lucas Santa Cruz and Catalina de Gonzales; his maternal grandparents were Juan Manuel de Torres y Almudarracin and Juana Catalina Hurtado de Mendoza. He was an only child. He died at the age of 81 in 1765 in Santiago,Chile.
They had a daughter named Teresa.
