Diego was born in 1572 in Castilla,España and his baptism took place in 1614.  Diego's father was Pedro Martínez de Prado  and his mother was Magdalena Sáez de Angulo.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 83 in 1655 in Santiago,Chile.
