His paternal grandparents were Pepin II Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia and Alpaide Austrasia; his maternal grandparents were Utilo (Odilon) Duke of Bavaria and Childtrude (Hiltrude) Duchess of Austrasia. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Gifon Grippon Duke of, Bernard of, Childtrude (Hiltrude) Duchess of, Auda Ardane, Daughter and Landrade. He had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Bernard of, Carloman of, Pepin III "the Short" King of the, Bernard De, Hieronymous, St. Remi Giles of, Gisela De, Aude (Aldane) and UNKNOWN.
