Adelheid was born about 1218 in Of Henneberg,Sachsen-Meininge,Thuringia.  Adelheid's father was Poppo VII (XIII) Graf Von Henneberg and her mother was Elisabeth Von Wildberg.  Her paternal grandparents were Poppo VI Graf Von Henneberg and Sofie Grafin Von Andechs. She had a brother and four sisters, named Heinrich III Or VIII, Count Of, Luitgard, Countess Of, Berthe, Countess Of, Anna, Countess Of and Kunigunde, Countess Of.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother named Hermann I Count Of.  She was buried in Barfusserkloster,Nordhausen,Sachsen,Prussia.
