Alan was born about 1078 in Dol,,Normandie.  Alan's father was Fledaldus Dol and his mother was Gwentha UNKNOWN.  His paternal grandfather was Alan Dol.  He was an only child.  He died in 1114.

‌Alan and Avelina were married in a religious ceremony about 1105 in <of Paisley Abbey,Renfrewshire,Scotland>.  They had four sons named William, Jordan, Simon and Walter.
