Gospatric II was born in 1062 in Dunbar Castle,East Lothian,Scotland.1 Gospatric II's father was Gospatric I of Northumbria and his mother was Aethelreda of England. His paternal grandparents were Maldred King of Strathclyde Scotland and Ealdgyth Princess of Northumbria; his maternal grandparents were Ethelred II King England and Alfqifu Elfleda Gunnarsson. He had a brother and two sisters, named Waltheof Earl of, Eldgitha of and Aethelreda of. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 76 on August 22nd, 1138.1 General Notes
