His paternal grandparents were Oberto II Marquis of Savona and Beatrice Di Ramagnano; his maternal grandparents were Ulric Manfred II Turin and Bertha (of Italy) of Este. He had a brother named Manfredo Margrave. He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers named Manfredo and Bonifacio I Marchese di. He died at the age of 65 on October 5th, 1125.-
