Ludwig I Duke was born on December 23rd, 1174 in <Of,Kelheim,Niederbayern,Bavaria>. Ludwig I Duke's father was Otto I (V) Bavaria and his mother was Agnes of Looz-Reineck. His paternal grandparents were Count Otto IV of Wittlesbach and Princess Heilika of Burg-Lengenfeld; his maternal grandparents were Count Ludwig I of Looz and Agnes von Metz. He had five sisters named Sophie, Agnes of, Richardis, Heilwich of and Mathilde. He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Sophia Von. He died at the age of 56 on September 15th, 1231.
