Truly Southern Oct. 10, 1915-May 4, 1996
Truly Southern, 80, 1624 E St., Bedford, formerly of Heltonville, died at
3:05 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Memorial Hospital, Bedford.
Born in Monroe County, she was the daughter of George and Stella (Turner)
Eads. She married Ormaul P. Southern Dec. 22, 1941, and he died March 14,
1984.
She had worked at RCA and Home Laundry in Bloomington, and operated a
grocery at Heltonville and 601 U St., Bedford, with her husband.
Surviving are one son, Paul Southern of Bedford; four brothers: Clifford,
Delbert, Vascil and Earmy Eads, all of Lawrence County; four
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gilbert Eads; and
three sisters: Golda Deckard, Mamie Norman and Nina Marie Eads.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford,
with Pastor Greg Eads and the Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will
be in Gilgal Cemetery, Heltonville.
