Dale Cain, 76, of Bloomington, died Tuesday at his residence.
Born Sept. 13, 1916, in Monroe County, he was the son of Elmer and
Rachel (Elkins) Cain. He was a retired quarry worker and employee of
Indiana University where he had worked for 20 years. He was an Army
veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.
survivors include his wife, Ines (Smith) Cain; four daughters, Ronda
Chambers, Wanda Scott, Rogena Richardson and Vivian Hawkins, all of
Bloomington; one son, Daniel Cain of Bloomington; five sisters, Betty
Wilkerson of Madison, Della Nelson of Bedford, Deloris Deckard of
Westfield, Maxine Hall of Indianapolis and darval Chambers of
Bloomington; 12 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 16
great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Doyle Cain; three
sisters, Dona Cain, Dola Cain and Delia Bales; and one grandson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Day Mortuary with the Rev. Thelma
Prince officiating. Burial will be at Burgoon Cemetery where the
Bloomington American Legion will conduct military graveside rites.
