Chlotar was born about 0575. Chlotar's father was Chilperic de Neustria I and his mother was Fredegunde. His paternal grandparents were Chlotar von Franken I and Radegunda of Thuringia; his maternal grandparents were Brunulphe and Crotechilde d'Ostrogothie. He was an only child.1 General Notes
